Drake's New Mixtape 'Dark Lane Demo Tapes' Just Dropped

With more Drizzy on the way

April 30, 2020

This is not a drill, we repeat this is not a drill! Drake just dropped a new mixtape, titled Dark Lane Demo Tapes and we are shook. As expected it is in fact not just the content we need, but the content we deserve. Oh, and that’s not all folks, this newest release is to be followed up by an entire album this summer. It’s okay… go ahead, freak out. We did.

On Thursday at around 7PM, Champagnepapi himself shared the news to his 66 million Instagram followers. “My brothers @oliverelkhatib @ovonoel put together a lot of the songs people have been asking for (some leaks and some joints from SoundCloud and some new vibes) DARK LANE DEMO TAPES out everywhere at midnight…,” he wrote. “Also my 6th STUDIO ALBUM DROPPING SUMMER 2020!!! Lucky number 6. Soon fwd.”

Some of the tracks should sound familiar. Drake released "When to Say When” and “Chicago Freestyle” on the low low at the beginning of March. About a month later he hit us with the “Toosie Slide,” I believe it’s safe to say the song that took TikTok by storm was already on your radar. For those real ones out there, you might have also known that Drake shared snippets of “Pain 1993” and “Demons” on two separate IG Live sessions he made surprise appearances on. Still, getting the complete package is everything we could have wanted and more.

It’s been almost two years since Drake’s last project Scorpion. With that said, it’s been less than three weeks since he hopped on Diddy’s IG Live telling him he was working on “something fresh and new,” adding that it’s “probably the most music I’ve been sitting on.” So that fact that we’re seeing this much new music so soon is very exciting. It’s actually the most exciting thing that’s happened to us this week.

Dark Lane Demo Tapes is now available everywhere.
