As much as I love the illuminating lights of the Strip, I also enjoy exploring the breathtaking desert landscape.

It's been years since I made the 1-hour drive to visit our Valley of Fire National State Park. Usually, I run to Red Rock, but this time around I felt the need to drive further out and explore this gem.

Let's face it, this is the perfect weather to be outside. I packed my backpack, grabbed my pup, and off we went to enjoy an adventure. Lately, I enjoy watching sunsets more than Netflix, haha!

We arrived with plenty of time to stop at various of trails. There are tons to choose from depending on how strenuous or easy hiking you're willing to take on. Valley of Fire is stunning! I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that there were moments in which I looked out into the desert and my heart filled with so much joy.

The coolest part of one of the trails I walked on was that it used to be the hide-out for outlaws in the late 1800’s.. talk about some wild wild west ish! Also, in case you’re a fan of cool rock formations, one of the most popular ones (and a totally IG worthy picture spot) is Elephant Rock.

To add more gasping and joyous moments, I spotted a cute family of desert big horn sheep!

If you’re looking to venture out with the entire family for a fun day, Valley of Fire is a must.

I tried my best to capture some parts, check out the video below!
