Daily Coronavirus Case Count Sees Sharp Spike

LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - The Southern Nevada Health District added 888 new coronavirus cases to Clark County's total on Friday, bringing that total to 50,569. That single day gain was the highest in a couple of weeks, as the numbers were starting to level off.

The virus-related death toll in Clark County rose by 15 to 884.

Statewide, the latest figures from Nevada Health Response shows that there are currently 59,749 COVID-19 cases (up 1009) overall, while the virus-related death toll increased to 1045 (a jump of 15). 

The daily positivity test rate rose to 14.5% (from 14.2%), while the cumulative positivity test rate held steady at 10.5%. Hospitalizations of confirmed COVID-19 cases was down by 45, while the number of COVID patients in ICUs was unchanged.
